Join Me At An Event

May 10-11, 2024 Writing Day Workshop Online Pitch Event

I will be accepting pitches for adult and children's books in various genres. See my MSWL.

"This event is designed to squeeze as much into two days of learning as possible. You can ask any questions you like during the online classes, and get your specific concerns addressed. We will have literary agents online to give feedback and take pitches from writers."

October 5-6, 2024 DFWCon Dallas, Texas

I will be accepting pitches for adult and children's books in various genres. See my MSWL.

"Learn how to get an agent’s attention with a well-written query letter. Even better, pitch your work to an agent in person. Catch sessions by established authors and other professionals in the business. Read in front of a small group for feedback. Find out the best ways to market your book. There are so many classes in two days it can be hard to choose. Aside from the formal schedule, DFWCon gives you the time to broaden your professional network and make new friends."

November 7-9, 2024 Hampton Roads Writers Conference

I will be teaching 2 classes and offering an above the slush pile submission opportunity to attendees.

The Dreaded Synopsis - A compressive guide to writing a one-page synopsis. We will discuss why agent and editors ask for them, how they are used in the decision-making process, and how authors can utilize them in planning and plotting their book. This is a 1-hour class.

Perfecting Your Pitch - A 2-hour immersive workshop on perfecting the 10-minutes agent/editor pitch session. We will discuss how to perfect your "elevator" pitch, what catches an agent/editor's attention, and follow up questions they may ask. The workshop will include an opportunity to share your pitch and revise based on feedback received.
