The Wake-up Warrior

The inspiration for this story comes from my son, who hates waking up for school. Every morning our cat helps me coax him out of bed. One morning he looked at me and said, "She is my wake-up warrior." Well you can't say things like that to an author and not get a story written about it.

BEEP!

The alarm shrieked.

Jack pulled the covers up.

"I don't want to go to school," he whined.

OOMPH

"You're heavy."

SWISH

"That tickles!"

SCRATCH

"Okay, I'll make breakfast."

Jack smiled at the ball of fur on his chest.

"Thanks for helping me get up. You're my wake-up warrior."
